Family
My family is by far where I get the vast majority of things from. I don't watch the news while I am here so, my parents will tell me about things that I missed. I like to be up to date about what goes on back home and they do that for me. A few months ago there was an unfortunate passing of a young high schooler from my old high schools rival. An unfortunate crash had taken place and I found out firstly from my family and then began to check in on my friends that are still there. All information about things in Georgia (unless there is major news) and more specifically things that ultimately have an effect on my area and my family and friends is still important to me even from the distance.
I follow a lot of Instagram pages that keep things up to date whether it's keeping up with music or keeping up with politics. I have an interest in politics because social studies has always been my favorite class by far so my somewhat extensive knowledge on the political realm of the world stems from there. Being that I have a good bit of commitments and/or responsibilities to the various things I am in, I don't have 2 hours that I can sit down and commit to watching the news or let alone read full news articles. Instagram keeps things short and sweet for the amount of time I have and I can get a lot more news in the time because of the fact that it is short and sweet.
ESPN
Sports is probably the most news that I intake. Being a Sports Management major I don't believe there is a world where you can do the major and not truly love sports to the point where you want to continuously be up to date on everything that happens across the various fields. They play such a big role in my life and who I am today that I wouldn't be able to function daily without some type of sports new and that's where ESPN hits for me.
Apple News
The first thing I see when I wake up is Apple News. It shows up while my phone is charging in rest mode and it keeps up to date with what happened during the time I was sleep from across the world. Waking up to the current issues is something that interest me because of the fact that I used to wake up to the news on my own accord while I was at home so it bring a sense of feeling like I'm back home.
CNN
I went on a tour of the CNN facilities in Atlanta around my 8th grade year. Ever since I saw the interworking and watched the broadcasts I was intrigue to the point where I wanted to keep up with what they were putting out. CNN consistently puts out quality articles on the daily events that occur. They are by far the best reporters and article writers in the news realm.
